At Northwell Health we are on a quest to define the health care industry of tomorrow. Last summer 24 interns - out of more than 900 submissions - were selected to participate in Northwell Health’s Healthcare Management Program (HMP) as a Summer Associate. Next summer, that could be you. Are you Made for this?
About the internship:
- We heard our previous Summer Associates loud and clear when their feedback was to extend the program. We listened, and our 2019 program will now be 10 weeks!
- Our Healthcare Management Program is an extensive paid summer internship open to current undergraduate college Juniors or those graduating in December 2019, with a record of outstanding academic achievement and leadership abilities.
- Through this unique program, you will gain exposure to the roles and responsibilities of a health care administrator in one of our many participating hospitals and clinical service lines.
The HMP internship is a first stepping stone in your career journey that can lead to many opportunities- including prime consideration into a full-time job in the Management Associate Program (MAP) post-graduation. The past three summers, over 30 Associates were offered jobs after graduation.

Kaley O’Connor, Brown University
“I was both nervous and excited to start as an HMP intern at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. I could never have imagined that at 9:00 AM on my first day, I would be standing in a circle with nurse managers, directors, and other hospital staff for an OR meeting about the first case start times. By the end of the first week, I have already been able to meet many incredible people from different teams throughout the hospital, observe endoscopic procedures, and have direct patient interaction. It has been a whirlwind, but I cannot wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the summer.”Submit your resume
Stephanie Chi, Cornell University
"The HMP program has provided me with insight on some of the obstacles that hospitals face on a day-to-day basis coupled with hands-on experience to go out and address some of these issues. However, the people are what makes this program stand out from the rest. The professionalism and compassion with which every single person works is an inspiration. This program truly embodies the fact that every role, every person, and every moment truly does matter.”Submit your resume
